      <image:title>About - ABOUT YOUNG ASSETS FOUNDATION</image:title>
<image:caption>Young Assets Foundation grew out of the gap between services for the community and the communities themselves. This gap was made clear by how service organisations and the community responded to the lockdown of the 9 towers. YAF puts young people at the front and centre of identifying areas of need, and designing and implementing responses. Young people hold the solutions our aim is for them to hold the power. In working to achieve our aim of youth led and controlled community services we have developed programs to empower young people, such as the Homework Club and YAF Schools Program, we have created and utilised opportunities to influence decision making of established community organisations and peak bodies, such as the Richmond Covid response. YAF works differently to other community organisations because a different approach is needed.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Publications - Reports - YARRA YOUTH @ FRONT</image:title>
<image:caption>The following report discusses the engagement process in detail where key decision-makers from local and government departments, including the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), Yarra City Council (YCC), Department of Education and Training (DET) and lastly a non-profit organisation, Drummond Youth Services (The Drum), engage with local young people of the Yarra City Community with regards to community decision-making. While the traditional process of consulting young people utilises a top-down approach, this strategy provided an opportunity for young people to develop a vision in relation to issues and challenges being faced in their community in cooperation with the key decision-makers. As such, the potential to improve upon key areas and services in the City of Yarra can be actioned by the recommendations proposed by the young people.
